[Is This Normal?] My mind feels foggy and blank. Is my intelligence dropping?

There are moments when your mind suddenly goes blank during an important task, or you feel a strange sense of detachment from your surroundings. Often, people search for these symptoms fearing serious illness.

However, this is likely your brain's ultimate defense mechanism. You are not losing your intelligence; you are simply "overloaded."

🧠 Why the Brain "Powers Down" Itself

• Brain Fog

A state where concentration drops and memories feel hazy. This happens during extreme stress when the brain switches to "Low Power Mode" to prevent overheating.

• Dissociation

A sensation where the mind feels detached from reality. It feels as if you are watching your own life through a movie screen. This is a psychological shield against overwhelming stress.

"This is similar to how a computer automatically slows down when it overheats.
Your system has simply pressed the 'Pause' button."

🌿 "Stopping Is Not Regression"

To those who blame themselves for constantly spacing out, I share an insight from Eckhart Tolle:

"The thoughts in your mind are like clouds. Let them pass through you as clouds pass through the sky. You are the vast sky behind them." — Eckhart Tolle

Just because it is foggy doesn't mean the sky has disappeared. Instead of whipping yourself to wake up from this blank state, it is time to gift your brain a rest and let the fog drift away on its own.

Today, instead of "doing," try "being."
Your brain is working hard to protect you by doing nothing.
