Tearing up over the little things—Is it a personality disorder?

Have you ever suddenly felt a surge of explosive anger or a burst of tears over something seemingly trivial? You might think: "Is there something wrong with my personality?"
To give you the bottom line: this isn't a flaw in your character. It’s a signal that your "emotional governance" has reached its limit.
🫗 Emotions don't disappear; they are "deposited"
In society, we are taught that suppressing emotions is a virtue. But emotions do not vanish; they stack up inside the "container" of your heart.
The Process of Emotional Flooding:
- Suppression: Pushing feelings down to appear "mature."
- Accumulation: Emotions stack up like water in a glass.
- The Final Drop: A tiny event causes the entire container to overflow.
You didn't explode because of that last drop; you exploded because of the vast amount of patience you had already stored up. This is "Emotional Flooding."
🌿 "You must empty it to fill it again"
To those of you trying to shove your emotions back down, I offer these words from the poet Rainer Maria Rilke:
"Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final." — Rainer Maria Rilke
Emotions are not enemies; they are merely guests passing through. When you acknowledge them by saying, "Ah, I am angry right now," space finally begins to open up in your heart.
🛠️ Creating an "Emotional Drain"
"A sudden outburst is a medal of honor for how strongly you have endured until now."
